  2. I. Spiritual Sacrifice Comes with Maturity(1 Peter 2:1-3) A) We must develop a “sincere love of the brethren” (1:22-23) 1. Implies we responded to the love of God (Jn. 3:16) 2. Matured in our attitude toward God and toward men (1 Cor. 3:1-3)

  3. I. Spiritual Sacrifice Comes with Maturity(1 Peter 2:1-3) B) Realization of sin is a necessity (Psalm 51:14-17) C) Our lives then become a living sacrifice of righteousness because we trust in God (Ps. 4:4-5)

  4. I. Spiritual Sacrifice Comes with Maturity(1 Peter 2:1-3) D) God desires loyalty in our spiritual sacrifices (Hosea 6:6) 1. God is pleased with a sacrifice that comes from true love and obedience (Ps 50:13-15) 2. ...a sacrifice which costs us (1 Chronicles 21:1-30)

  5. II. Spiritual Sacrifice in Our Worship A) Jesus and the woman at Jacob’s well (John 4:22-24) B) A sacrifice of thanksgiving (Ps. 107:21-22) C) “Fruit of our lips” (Heb. 13:14-15) D) If it is not spiritualthen it is merely ritual . . . . . . if it is merely ritualthen it is not spiritual.

  6. III. Spiritual Sacrifice in Our Daily Lives A) Sacrifice of our body set apart for God’s service (Rom. 12:1-2) 1. Order your way aright (Psalm 50:22-23) 2. Our service to God is a matter of the heart (Proverbs 21:2-3)

  7. III. Spiritual Sacrifice in Our Daily Lives B) Sacrifice of our time 1. To teach others the gospel (Matthew 28:19-20) 2. To seek to restore those in sin (Galatians 6:1)

  8. III. Spiritual Sacrifice in Our Daily Lives C) Sacrifice of our money 1. Sharing in spiritual and in the physical (Rom. 15:26-27) 2. Support spreading the Gospel (Phil. 4:18; 1 Cor. 9:11) D) Sacrifice of self (Luke 9:23-26; Romans 10:1-2; 9:1-5).
