Ukraine - key facts • Population: 48 mln Capital: Kyiv - 4 mln • 95% of Ukraine is flat or nearly flat, with small rolling hills • Plants of agriculture lands (black soil) – 80 % of the world reservation • Growing consumer market • Well-educated, skilled workforce • Healthy food and lifestyle • Location at the trade crossroads with extensive transport infrastructure • Developed scientific institutions www.uair.com.ua

  6. 12 companies are listed on foreign capital markets: LSE/AIM – 7, Deutsche Borse – 2, WSE - 3 IR market infrastructure is not developed Ukrainian IR market challenges • Disclosure level of companies listed on foreign capital markets mostly depends on corporate advisors, those listed on local capital market (PFTS) is low • The level of corporate governance is low with banking sector being exception • Lack of knowledge and experience in IR • Profession of IR manager/director has not legal status in Ukraine www.uair.com.ua

UAIR goals • to unite IR professionals for IR market development • to facilitate the implementation of the best IR practice and high level of corporate disclosure in Ukrainian companies • to establish and shape the IR profession in Ukraine, increase professionalism of IR practitioners • to deliver the correct understanding of IR strategic role and corporate function to the top management of Ukrainian companies • to help Ukrainian companies to attract investments from both domestic and foreign investors www.uair.com.ua

UAIR achievements • Membership: • 8 IR practitioners • 2 corporate members • 2 international associated member – ARFI (Russia), Krimconsult (Germany) • UAIR is a member of GIRN • Signed agreements of co-operation with key Ukrainian capital market players and regulators • Open dialog with financial regulators www.uair.com.ua

In 2009 we are: • Doing a lot of promotion of UAIR to different audiences in Ukraine and abroad • Developing website – uair.com.ua • Working on official acknowledgement of IR profession in Ukraine on the state level • Working with financial and business media • Building relationship with foreign investors www.uair.com.ua

Impact of economic crisis Ukraine was more vulnerable to the crisis due to a combination of: • Large Current Account Deficits • Large External Debt Burden • Currency devaluation • Banking Sector Weaknesses Impact on IR sector: • “0” new working place in IR • Decrease of interest to IR • Cut IR budgets and costs on trainings • Increase interest from PR specialists • Decrease of sponsorship possibilities for UAIR activities www.uair.com.ua
