  2. Context • Morocco is a MIC and in transition (political, economic, demographic and social), • Political stability, investiments attractive BUT, • Insuficienteconomic growthto create wealth necessary to tackle poverty and unemployment, • Trends in reducing poverty,and persistent disparities

  5. Progress • TOR completed, shared with RO/HQ, • National team recruited • Proposal presented to UNICEF • Methodology developed and presented to study steering committee • Statistical template started (using CEHS, 2001), DHS, MICS shortly • Policy Template, ongoing data collection from partners

  6. Child Poverty-deprivation ( some indic only) • Have access to electricity: 38% • More than 5 per room: 11.9% • No access to toilet: 41% • Never been to school: 5%

Some challenges Statistical Template • Access to datasets (MICS) delayed the study implementation, • Potential access to datasets (LSHS), just finalised by NSO, • Introduce new and agreed indicators specific to Moroccan context Policy Template • National Initiative on Human development , INDH, being evaluated (will take a few months) • NPA for Children not yet evaluated
