  1. Crackback By: John Coy (Sports)

  2. Plot • A junior named Miles Manning is starting on the varsity football team at his school. He isn't the coolest or most popular kid at his school but he has a wild ride for his junior year.

  3. Point of View • The point of view is first person from Miles Manning as the main character/narator.

  4. Conflicts • Miles is pressured to take a steroid called dianabol or D-BOL • He also has a bad home life with his dad

  5. Dianabol (D-BOL) • Rapid and fast-acting build-up of strength and mass is noticed. • D-Bol is the slang name for Dianabol. Both D Bol and Dianabol are Methandrostenolone. • Like all oral steroids, D-bol has been C-17 alpha alkylated. While this modification protects the drug from being deactivated by the liver, it can also be toxic to the organ. Long-term exposure to C-17 alpha alkylated substances can result in damage and possibly even the development of certain forms of cancer. • Steroids have been reclassified as illegal substances. D-BOL is completely illegal.

  6. Main Characters • Miles Manning • Coach Stahl • Zach Turner • Miles’ Mom & Dad • Coach Seploski

  7. Literary Devices • The author used imagery to explain how the characters look. • He uses irony because he talks about this senior how he is a jerk and stupid then Miles and him become best friends and hang out a lot.

  8. Likes & Dislikes • This is one of my favorite books. I like how the author explained everything, and how the book was laid out. • There wasn’t anything that I didn’t like. It was a great book.

  9. Recommendations • I recommend this book to everybody. Especially people who like football. It is a really easy book to read and it is only 201 pages.
