University Core Council: Status of MNGT 452 • “…the Council was not able to come to a positive decision about this course” • “…there is a continuing concern with interdisciplinarity” • “The interdisciplinary focus of the course must be central, not incidental or peripheral” • “…perspectives from at least two of the following: natural science, social science, humanities” • Potential remedies include • “[E]vidence that a faculty member trained in either the natural sciences, social sciences, or humanities has served as a significant resource for the course” • “[E]vidence that assigned readings include material written by respected professionals in one or more of these three fields” • Materials requested to be revised and re-submitted by no later than beginning of Fall 2006 semester • Now what? • Revise and resubmit • Punt to LIBA 497 • Develop new course or modify existing course so as to achieve central focus of interdisciplinarity
