How we do it? • Starts with clear communication • What is the product? • Understanding the cost factors • Ready to start the process • Supplier Selection • Negotiation • Manufacturing Process • Material Selected • Specification Agreed • Is it a new product, mould required • Prototyping/Sampling Approval • Production Starts - Certification • Approval • Quality Control • Shipping & Delivery

Not without some challenges… • Lack of communication, when there is silence from the supplier • Unrealistic demands for payments • No control • No commitment to delivery • Was their a prior relationship with the supplier? • What were the initial factory visits reports? • How was the negotiation conducted? • Was the order placed solely on price? • Who is the relationship with? • Turn this around. Understand the issues. Work with the factory and they will work with you

Some Tips • Investing the time initially • Rigorous supplier selection • Local Support, team on the ground in China • Adhering to certification & compliance regulations • Negotiating • Signatures are important • Check & Check again! • Respect and understand the suppliers work ethic. Travel, Meet, Eat, and work together with our suppliers to produce results. Business and relationships are only built over time
