District Giving 2007-08 • District 6360 gave $342,656 to TRF in the last Rotary year. • Average per capita giving was $50.24 • Through January, 2009, giving is $211,364 or $20.12 per capita • What will your goal be for 2009-10? • Add your goal to the Planning Guide and to your Annual Giving Commitment Form

6. How do you answer these statements? • I’d rather give my money to local projects that help local people. • Foundation dollars do support local projects through District Simplified Grants. We benefit from our participation with the GSE teams. We learn from our scholars and our local students who receive the outbound scholarship benefit significantly.

7. How do you answer these statements? • Rotary already costs me a lot of money; how can I also give $100 a year to TRF? • $100 a year is less than $2.00 a week. A cup of coffee, a dessert, a snack at the movie. The cost of Rotary is primarily meals. Eliminate the meal cost from the amount “spent” on Rotary and how much does it really cost?

8. How do you answer these statements? • TRF got that big grant from Bill Gates. My small contribution isn’t going to make a difference. • The generous Gates grants and the subsequent Google grant are restricted for Polio eradication. None of those funds are being used for the programs supported by the annual programs fund such as grants and education programs.

9. How do you answer these statements? • Why should I be a sustaining member when the officers in my club are not? • Every person makes their own decision about giving. If you believe in the work of The Rotary Foundation, your support should be your own decision.

10. TRF Future Vision • Grant procedures will change • TRF motto unchanged – Doing Good in the World • Grant programs to be simplified • Global Grants and District Grants • Six focus areas for Global Grants: Peace and Conflict Resolution, Disease Treatment, Water /Sanitation, Maternal/Child Health, Basic Education/Literacy, Economic Development • More funds for District Grants • Implementation completed by 2013
