  2. School Eligibility & Requirements • Schools must already have • Electrical upgrades • Laptops/computers • Upgraded bandwidth • Dedicated School Technician/CUNY Intern • At this time, Middle and High Schools only

  3. School Agreement • Purchase licenses through iLearnNYC. • Implement iLearnNYC in either a grade or content area with a minimum of two teachers and two classes. • Attend monthly sessions. • Complete evaluation surveys (pre/post). • Host/Participate classroom visits. • Contribute to the iLearnNYC community. • Be mindful when selecting teachers (recommend those who are willing to learn new ideas, embrace change and have the ability to build capacity).

  4. School Based iLearn Team • Principal or Assistant Principal • iLearn Coordinator -SPOC • Instructional Lead/Inquiry Team Member • Programmer/Guidance Counselor • Technician

  5. Blended Learning Models • Schools to select a blended learning model to implement: • Rotational: (Station, Lab-Rotation, Flipped, Individual) • Flex Model • Self Blended

Membership Models • iLearn • Recommended for returning and experienced schools • Free PD in the summer and monthly throughout the year, and a peer network of the DOE’s leading blended-learning schools • iLearn+ (Plus) • Recommended for new schools who need more support • Free PD in the summer and monthly throughout the year, and a peer network of the DOE’s leading blended-learning schools • Extra on-site support to get your school up and running, or to take your blended learning model to the next level

  7. iLearn Membership • Access to all summer and monthly school-year professional development sessions • Ability to purchase from 15 vendors at discounted rates • Access to all iLearnNYC resources and webinars • 24/7 live helpdesk/technical support • Must purchase minimum of 34students licenses - from any of 15 vendors • Recommended for experienced schools that need limited support.

  8. iLearn+ (plus) Membership* • 7 days of personalized on-site consultation/professional development support • Dedicated on-site Implementation Manager • Ability to attend all summer and monthly school-year professional development sessions • Ability to purchase from 15 vendors at discounted rates • Access to all iLearnNYCresources and webinars • 24/7 live helpdesk/technical support • Schools must purchase a minimum of 68 student licenses • Recommended for schools that need extra support to get up and running or to take their blended model to the next level. *a limited number of iLearn+ memberships are available, and will be allocated based on …

Benefits of Membership • Allows for implementation for at least one full class • Allows for focused planning of professional development sessions and targeted management of resources: • Professional development of vendor products • Management of personalized IM services • Monthly meeting aligned to goals/needs • Preparation for PARCC , College Readiness and 21st Century learning • Provides a clear timeline for implementation • Provides every teacher in the building access to online content • Increases student access to managed online content • Ability to purchase licenses at significant cost savings

Application Timeline • Information Sessions – February 2013 • Application Process – Deadline February 28, 2013 • School Selection – March 15, 2013 • School cohort selection – April 15, 2013 • Vendor showcase – April 15, 2013 • Online Information Portal – ilearnnyc.wikispaces.com • Professional Development • Pre-Purchase planning – April/May • Targeted PD – Admin console, LMS, Aventa – June-August

  11. Lab Schools* • Commits to: • Working with design partner(s)and IM; • Identify promising practices and mitigating challenges; • Leading/sharing/hosting monthly sessions for cohort community; • Benefits: • Weekly support from IM; • Devices and/or licenses; • Recognized as an iLearnNYC showcase school; • Customized support; *Additional application needed for Lab School selection.

  12. Commitment If a school enrolls in iLearn/iLearn+ (plus), and later decides not to purchase licenses/implement the iLearn program, or if the school does not provide an on-site technician: • Any capital-funded devices awarded to the school must be returned to the iLearn program • On-site support would be discontinued (for iLearn+ (plus)memberships)
