  4. What we know.......22nd July Treasury announcement “...multi-million pound boost each year..”  Equivalent to 50% Crown Estate revenues. April 2012 = £23.7 million “..to support the economic development of coastal communities” “...projects that ... support charities, the environment, education and health.” “Examples could include support for developing renewable energy, improving skills or environmental safeguarding or improvement.”

What Ministers have said.... “We welcome innovative bids from charities, businesses, social enterprises and local organisations, which support the economic development of the community.” Danny Alexander MP, Chief Secretary to the Treasury “Every coastal community in the UK will have the chance to bid for a share to help them with projects that will have a real and lasting impact on the local economy.” Justine Greening MP, Economic Secretary
