  2. Rigel -Rigel is a blue supergiant and is 17 solar masses. -Constellation: Orion -Diameter: 10.90 x 1010 m or 0.726 AU -Temperature: 11,000 K or 19340.33˚F -Color: Light blue -Distance from Sun: about 788 ly -Rigel is the sixth or seventh brightest star in the sky.

  3. ORION Orion is called “The Hunter”, which is from Greek mythology It is one of the biggest and most recognizable constellations in the night sky. It can be seen throughout the world. 4. Lifecycle of Rigel • Rigel is in it’s supergiant stage, but will soon come out of it. • Next it will either collapse and turn into a supernova, or shed it’s outer layers and turn into a white dwarf.

  5. Rigel vs The Sun • Size: 10.90 x 10ˆ10 m Rigel is much bigger • Temperature: 11,000 K or 19340.33˚F Rigel is about twice as hot • Color: light blue Rigel shines about 40,000 times the luminosity of the sun. That’s really bright!! • Size: 1,391,980 km • Temperature: 5778 K, 1,000˚F • Color: yellow
