  3. Hudson’s Family • Three Brothers, Christopher, Thomas, John • His father was a wealthy Londoner, a member of Skinner and Tanner. • Mother name was Barbra • Wife’s name is Katherine. She was buried September 11, 1624. • Three sons, Oliver, John, and Richard

  4. Henry Sailing Experiences • He sailed for English and Dutch merchants • Hudson made 4 dangerous and difficult voyages • He was looking for a Northeast route to India Red- first voyage 1607 Green-second voyage 1608 Blue-third voyage 1609 Pink-fourth voyage 1610-1611

  5. Why did Hudson Travel There? • passage between North America and To find a northwest South America • He traveled to new lands in North America but he was trying to find a way to get to the Pacific ocean.

  6. The result of his voyages and how it influenced the world • Hudson accidentally found four new places. • The Chesapeake Bay, New York Harbor, Hudson Bay, and the Hudson Strait was found.
