Profile and lines of research • 3 EUR Profile areas: Welfare, Governance, Health • Micro and macrotransition processes from 3 different angles. • Line 1 (Arjun Bedi) micro-level evidence-based policy analysis in the context of specific countries and country groupings. • Line 2 (Peter van Bergeijk) economic interaction between countries through trade, investment and other capital flows. • Line 3 (Mansoob Murshed) conflicts and cooperation within and between countries; economic governance. • An important recurrent theme is the impact of uncertainty that is generated by exogenous shocks such as crises, (civil) wars and environmental degradation.
