  1. Welcome Key Clubbers!

  2. The Key Club Pledge I pledge, on my honor, to uphold the objects of Key Club International; to build my home, school and community; to serve my nation and God; and combat all forces which tend to undermine these institutions.

  3. The deadline is… TODAY, OCTOBER 1ST Remember you are not officially a member until you have completed all three steps (online registration, parent permission slip, and $30 dues!)!

  4. Get your Key Club shirtnow! We have a limited number of medium and larges left. If you still need a shirt and have paid, you can pick up a shirt now! We will be making a second order ASAP so everyone else can receive their shirts!

  5. You joined Key Club… now what? Each semester, you are required to have 15 service hours (10 of which must be physical)and attend 2 socials! Through Key Club, you are going to make so many friends and have so many amazing experiences! Make the most of your Key Club experience!

  6. REMEMBER! The only way to earn your credit for Key Club volunteer hours and social credits is to volunteer at/attend events offered by our Key Club!

  8. It’s October! You know what that means? It’s time to…

UNICEF is an international humanitarian organization dedicated to bettering the lives of children across the globe who suffer from malnutrition, lack of clean water, insufficient medical care, and overall don’t have the necessities to live. Trick-Or-Treat for UNICEF is a fun and easy way to help provide those needs for children across the world. Look at all you can do! $1 – Clean water for a child for 40 days! $5 – Give food to a malnourished child for 5 days! $10 – Vaccinate 280 children! $100 – Protect 100 kids from malaria! $500 – Provide a water pump to an entire village!

  10. Check out a UNICEF box after the meeting! • Fill that box ¾ of the way full with coins and bills! • Once the box is full you can… a. Bring the money back and fill up again b. Return the box and your money • You can drop off your money BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL ONLY to Mrs. Haygood in Room 2110 • IF YOU LOOSE YOUR BOX OR FAIL TO RETURN IT BY OCTOBER 31ST, IT IS A $5 FEE. IF YOU FAIL TO PAY THIS FEE, YOU WILL BE PLACED ON THE FINES AND FEES LIST

  11. How do I get my hours? Search: lesly.haygood@cfisd.net Use this website throughout the year in order to sign up for volunteer opportunities! Also, constantly be checking your email and our website for alerts on new events!

Check Sign Up Genius and the website regularly!

  13. ATTENTION: If you sign up for an event, YOU MUST SHOW UP! It reflects negatively on our club AND you! There are lots of people who want to volunteer for events but can’t because they’re full! If you cannot make a volunteer event, DELETE YOUR SIGN UP! There are plenty of people who will take your spot. DELETING YOUR SIGN UP IS BETTER THAN BEING A NO-SHOW!

  14. Need donation hours? Walmart Gift Cards! Key Club uses Walmartgiftcards throughout the year for various occasions. Every $5 = 1 donation hour Coke Tabs! Bring in soda can tabs to be donated to the Ronald McDonald House. 1 FULL Ziploc bag = 1 donation hour Don’t forget to fill up those UNICEF boxes for 1 donation hour!

  15. BRING YOUR SERVICE CARD TO EVERY MEETING! Starting today, if you do not have your service card with you at the meeting YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE CREDIT FOR YOUR ATTENDANCE! If you need your service card signed for an event or social you volunteered at/attended, fill out the date, event name, number of hours, etc. and THEN we will sign it for you!

  16. What’s expected ofME? When you’re volunteering… - Wear your Key Club shirt! - Always be on time!- Never leave until your work is completely done! - No purple! • No eating! • No cell phones! Do whatever is asked of you with a good attitude Remember… you are there to serve!

  17. Calling all FRESHMEN! Are you a freshman in Key Club this year and are interested in becoming a Key Club officer? Apply to be a freshman representative! Informational meeting: TODAYOctober 1st after the afternoon meeting (Applications and interview information)

  19. Do you have volunteer hours outside of Key Club? You should work towards… The Presidential Volunteer Service Award! Go to presidentialserviceawards.org and make an account and track your hours throughout the entire calendar year! You can include your Key Club hours as well as any outside hours. We will give you more information as the semester comes to an end!
