Objectives • To examine the teaching of the scriptures on the plan of salvation. • To equip the saints with a deeper understanding of what salvation is. • Why salvation is important and should be received by all people. • How an individual receives salvation. • To enable the saints to effectively communicate what the bible teaches about salvation.

  4. The Plan of Salvation • Open our understanding as to who God is and His Attributes • Genesis 1:1-2 • The Creator • Genesis 2:1 • Psalm 90:2 • Job 26:7 • 1 Chronicles 29:11

  5. The Attributes of God • God is a Spirit –John 4:24 • God is Light -1 John 1:5 • God is Love -1 John 4:8 • God is Holy -1 Peter 1:16 • God is a consuming fire –Hebrews 12:29 • Exodus 15:11, Isaiah 40:25, Exodus 3:14, Isaiah 6:1-6 , Exodus 20:3

  7. The Fall Of Man • Because of Adam mankind is born a sinner. • Psalms 51:5, Romans 3:23 • He does not possess any holy affection towards God. • Romans 1:25 • 2 Timothy 3:2-4 • Man has a continuous bias towards sin • Genesis 6:5, John 3:19

  10. What is Salvation, and why it is important? • Propitiation • John 3:36 • Gives us deliverance from • The penalty of sin which is the curse of the Law. (Galatians 3:13) • From sin as a power in one’s life. Romans 6:2,6 • From Satan (2 Timothy 2:26) • Redeems mankind from bondage 1 Peter 1:18-19, 1 Corinthians 6:20

  11. How does one receive Salvation • Admit that one is a sinner in need of God’s saving grace. (Ecclesiastes 7:20, Ephesians 2:8-9) • Believe by faith that Jesus is the Son of God, lived a sinless life, shed his blood on the cross for sins, and rose from the dead. (John 3:16, Acts 4:12, Romans 10:9-19, John 1:12). • Confess and repent by turning away from sin and pray to God for forgiveness. (Psalm 51:7, Proverbs 28:13, Isaiah 1:18).

  12. How does one receive Salvation • Be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ signifying the death and burial of sin and resurrection in the newness of life. (John 3:26-27, Mark 16:16, John 4:1-2, Acts 2:38, Romans 6:3-4). • Receive the baptism in the Holy Ghost and fire. (Matthew 3:11, John 14:15-17, Acts 2:1-4, 4:31, 8:14-17). • Live a Godly life. (Titus 2:12)

Conclusions • God’s love is perfect towards mankind. • God made provision for mankind to be restored to perfection • God’s ultimate desire is to be our God and we His People • Salvation gives us deliverance from sin and redeems us • We should obey His command to go and spread the good news: Jesus is our salvation
