  3. Formal Observation • NON-TENURED • All non-tenured teachers will be in the formal observation cycle • 2 observations per year • TENURED • 1 every 4 years. The principal reserves the right to remove a teacher from Differentiated Supervision at any time and place the teacher in the FormalObservation Model or assign the teacher to a Performance Improvement Plan with Intensive Supervision.

ACTION RESEARCH • develop a structured, on-going reflection of a practice-related issue • Tenured teacher who has received Satisfactory or Proficient/Distinguished on the last two Summative Evaluations • Individually, small groups, dyads, triads • SLO (Student Learning Objective) • Meeting Notes • Resources • Data Collection Tools • Results of reflective sessions *** ALL Research must be shared with administrator***

ACTION RESEARCH(Requirements) • Action Plan • Demonstration of alignment to Danielson Framework for teaching domain/component AND/OR district/school initiative. • Approval Meeting • Review of revisions requested after A.P. Submission • Mid Year Review • Evidence of progress to meet goal • Discussion of problems/concerns encountered • End of Year Reflection • Evidence of completion of A.P. including • Planning • Data collection • Analysis • Findings/Recommendation

  6. ACTION RESEARCH PROCESS: • Identify questions, issue, problem * Who/What do we focus on? • Define a solution • Requires background research • What strategy, material, resource/practice used?

  7. ACTION RESEARCH • Apply solution & collect data • Select solution • Specify how it will be applied • Specify data collected • Analyze Findings * What does the data say? • Take Action * How will you change your practice based on the data?

SLO (Student Learning Objective) • Process to document a measure of educator effectiveness based on student achievement of content standards. • CompleteINDIVIDUALLY or as a TEAM • SLOs are a part of Pennsylvania’s multiple-measure, comprehensive system of Educator Effectiveness authorized by Act 82 (HB 1901).
