There is high growth in the Northwest region of the United States amongst the black population. 2000-2011 Percent Change +54% +24% +62% +42% +39% +53% +56% +40% +47% +25% +23% +35% +34% +25% +41% +23% +46% +23% Maine has the fastest growing Black population in the US. +42% +24% Florida has the largest Black population amongst the top 20 growth states. Only DC and Michigan have declining Black populations, -11% and -1% respectively. However, in DC, the demo still accounts for 51% of the total population vs. 14% for Michigan.
