  2. Person vs. Person: Tom and Gatsby’s fight for Daisy When Gatsby met Daisy in Louisville, 1917, he fell in love. She was the first girl he ever felt close with. They made love and promised each other they would go on after Gatsby had left the war. Daisy met Tom and everything changed. They got married and began their lives together.

  3. Person vs. Person: Tom and Gatsby’s fight for Daisy When Gatsby and Daisy begin to once again step into each other's lives, they begin to rekindle the feelings that they had before. Tom is already having an affair with a secret red-haired mistress named Myrtle, and since Daisy knows all about it, she doesn’t hesitate much to come back to Gatsby.

  4. Person vs. Person: Tom and Gatsby’s fight for Daisy Tom and Gatsby’s conflict arose so much as to cost Gatsby his life. A guilty Tom put the blame on Gatsby on the affair with Myrtle and her death. Myrtle’s husband sets to get revenge by killing Mr. Gatsby.

  5. Person vs. Society: Gatsby against New York Gatsby gets the blame for the affair with Myrtle as well as her murder. Everyone in the city believes what they are hearing and everything turns around for Gatsby. He begins to lose everything he worked for.

  6. Person vs. Society: Gatsby against New York When things with Daisy and Gatsby begin to get more serious, they have to be more secretive of their relationship. Gatsby stops having parties and closes himself off. He doesn’t want the paparazzi finding out any information, and exposing them.
