  2. Process followed • 24 Sept: UNDG asks WGPI to identify actions & resources needed to better support UNDAF development, incl. Lessons from pilots • 18 Dec: WGPI review of DOCO draft paper • Jan-Feb: WGPI small group revised paper (FAO/UNDP) • 5 March: WGPI discussion • March: DOCO revised based on WGPI comments

  3. Purpose of the paper • Provide robust support to UNDAF roll out countries • taking into account agreed upon “best practices” from the DaO process • to enable UNCTs to develop a strategic, results-based UNDAF

  4. Areas where stronger support is needed • Accountability: need for leadership and quality assurance at all levels • Dissemination of lessons learned and knowledge management • Direct country support system at all levels
