Problem • The process of obtaining and using coal, oil, and natural gas is very expensive and will one day be useless. • In addition, these methods of generating energy cause: -The pollution of water and air -The destruction of water-based ecosystems -Large amounts of unusable soil http://www.epa.gov/RDEE/energy-and-you/index.html

  3. More Problems • 75% of an average home's energy is used when home electronics are in standby mode. • Energy consumption for small, easily avoidable power drain is at an all-time high. http://www1.eere.energy.gov/consumer/tips/home_office.html

  4. Solution • Clean, Efficient, and Sustainable Energy Sources: -Hydroelectric -Solar -Wind -Geothermal • Requires a large investment, but will see great results • People must have initiative, too

  5. The Process • Establish Communication and Organization • Decide on a Method • Refining the Design • Prototyping

Game Plot • Robots have always run on the energy of coal. • But now that the sources of coal have emptied, the robot leadership has been given one month to find a new source of power. • To save yourself and all of robotkind, you reclassify yourself as EcoSapien v1.0 and embark on a journey to change the world's power sources to clean and sustainable energy.

Game Features • Exciting visual representation of change from one energy source to another • Puzzles set in the world that represent the process of change from one energy source to another • Plenty of information on the benefits and faults of the energy sources you interact with • This information is presented subtly, avoiding the pitfalls of “edutainment”
