  2. WebAdvisor Self-Service Communications Management Set Up • Determine what documents are requested/received. • Determine how documents will be requested. • Set up the CRRD screen to request documents using a trigger (ISIR, Admissions Application, etc.) • Determine which documents are viewable on the WebAdvisor “My Documents” screen. • Use CCWP in ST and CORE. Must be updated on BOTH. • Should be updated regularly to avoid confusion.

  3. WebAdvisor Self-Service Communications Management Set Up CCWP • Review and update to avoid confusion. • Determines what documents the student can see on WebAdvisor. • Also review MDWP • Determines if Instance Lines should display. • Determines sort order presented to student. • Allows text for blank status and due date.

  8. WebAdvisor Self-Service Communications Management Set Up WebAdvisor “My Documents” Display

  9. WebAdvisor Self-Service Communications Management Set Up • CMC code descriptions should be easy for students to determine what we have received and what is needed in the Description. For example: 12-13 ISIR changed to 2012-2013 F.A.F.S.A • Be sure abbreviations make sense to the average person. For example: Ivf1213 changed to 12-13 Independent VerifWksht.

  10. WebAdvisor Self-Service Communications Management Set Up Think about what document you need: For example • Student veteran status is in question per the FAFSA. The document you need is the DD214. • Description should not read “Prove Veteran Status” but “DD214.” • The question is: What document does should the student provide to satisfy the request.

  11. WebAdvisor Self-Service WebAdvisor • WebAdvisor is fed by Datatel • Screens in Datatel can be updated to display wording on WebAdvisor and provide hyperlinks. • Use HTML converter to provide hyperlinks. • Advised to update in the desktop UI.

  12. WebAdvisor Self-Service WebAdvisor Screen Display

  13. WebAdvisor Self-Service WebAdvisor Updating the wording in these screens is different depending on the WebAdvisor version you are currently using. • Old WebAdvisor • Use the WebAdvisor for Students Appendix from the WebAdvisor Installation and Administration manual dated February 2009. • New WebAdvisor • Use the WebAdvisor for Colleague Financial Aid Release Highlights dated August 26, 2011.

  14. WebAdvisor Self-Service Avoid Pitfalls • If you do not suppress the Instance Line, everything populated there will be displayed to the student. • More than one office can use “My Documents.” • Make sure hyperlinks open in new window. • Review and update CCWP and WebAdvisor wording displayed at annual set up, in summer and at beginning of fall. • Learn from student comments and adjust.
