  2. Synthesis/Summary • Jesus begins his ministry (of course) in his hometown. • The message of God’s care for the poor is not well-received by his neighbors, who think he’s bragging, or his family, who thinks he’s gone crazy.

  3. Synthesis/Summary • Jesus does begin to attract some followers, the closest of which are called Apostles. • Most of Jesus’ first followers are simple people or sinners.
