Dante Alighieri, born in Florence, Italy, around 1265, faced numerous challenges throughout his life, including the early loss of his mother. His profound love for Beatrice and inspiration from the Roman poet Virgil guided his imaginative journey through Hell, depicted in his masterpiece, "The Divine Comedy." Dante is credited with creating the terza rima rhyme scheme, skillfully weaving together tercets. Exiled from his homeland due to political strife, he infused his rich cultural experiences into his writing, crafting vivid imagery that draws readers into his exploration of the afterlife.

Childhood • Dante was born in Florence Italy. Sometimes during 1265 • His mother died before he was 10 years old
what inspired him? • His alleged journey through hell where he was guided through by his love beatrice and the roman poet virgil
Accomplishments • Dante is credited with inventing terzarima, composed of tercets woven into a linked rhyme scheme, and chose to end each canto of the The Divine Comedy with a single line that completes the rhyme scheme with the end-word of the second line of the preceding tercet.
How his culture influencedhis writing • He was exiled from his country due to a war with other countries I guess. He died shortly aferwards.
The divine comedy. • they had their faces twisted toward their haunchesand found it necessary to walk backward, because they could not see ahead of them.... and since he wanted so to see ahead,he looks behind and walks a backward path
Words and literary devices • I see a lot of really vivid imagery. He writes with purpose and a real sense of him going through hell purgatory and paradise.
Dr. Joshua’s inferno. As I walked through that hellish twisting path filled with the horrors of the 7th circle of hell, it occurred to me that this was real, I was in my middle school and watched as the students rioted against the teachers throwing their backpacks and milk cartons.
