  1. Welcome to Kindergarten Orientation Please write your child’s name on each name tag. Place one sticker on you and one on your child. Big Creek Elementary School May 2, 2019

  4. A Day in the Life of a Big Creek Kindergartner

  5. We begin accepting students at 7:10am – from the bus or from car pool. Arrival • Students need to be in their homeroom class by 7:40am. They must check in at the front office with a parent after 7:40am.

  6. We adopted a new reading curriculum: • American Reading Company (ARC) • 30 minutes of reading every day at school and at home • Daily reading logs • Helps students to develop a love of reading from an early age ARC Reading Program

  7. Students may bring lunch from home or may select from several healthy choices in the cafeteria. • Outside fast-food is not permitted. • They sit together with their class in the cafeteria. • Instructional Assistants are on duty monitoring each class. • Lunch visitors are welcome after Labor Day Lunch

  9. Teachers and Instructional Assistants walk students to buses and car line each day. • It is best to set a regular schedule for your afterschool plans. • Changes in dismissal must come through the front office in writing. • Early checkout must be before 1:45 pm Dismissal
