  1. CONSTRINNONET PRESENTATION KICK-OFF DEFINITION PHASE

  2. I N D E X • Introduction to CONSTRINNONET • Entry-Point Method • Synergies with INNOCONS

  3. CONSTRINNONET

  4. CONSTRINNONET Introduction • It is a network aiming at Promoting Innovation in Construction Industry SMEs. • Duration: 36 months (6+30). • Co-ordinator: VTT Building Technology (FIN) • Contractors: CARSA (E) • USAL University of Salford (UK) • BBRI Belgian Building Research Institute (B) • CSTB Centre Scientifique et Technique du Bâtiment (F) • PARAGON Ltd (EL)

  5. CONSTRINNONET Objectives

  6. CONSTRINNONET Workplan Tasks in the network: • Innovation Forum (WP1) • Interaction Forum (WP2) • Project Infrastructure (WP3)

  7. ENTRY POINT METHOD

  8. ENTRY POINT METHOD Context The Entry Point Method (EPM) was detailed just after the development of two previous projects CONSIST (BRMA-CT98-8022) and a similar project developed by VTT’s consortium. Together with VTT, we decided to extend the achievements of our methodology to more regions/SMEs. The new concept should be based on the results of our previous experiences.

  9. ENTRY POINT METHOD Introduction • EPM is a methodology (operation mode) to technologically assist construction SMEs in paving their road towards RTD and Innovation. • The EPM is based on a double strategy: • General approach to the sector. • Individual assistance.

  10. ENTRY POINT METHOD General approach • EPM considers the so-called general approach as the best way to achieve two objectives: • Spreading CONSTRINNONET’s & INNOCONS objectives and informing “end- users” about RTD, Innovation, European Commission... • Getting the specific interest of real construction SMEs, potentially interested in our services.

  11. ENTRY POINT METHOD Individual Assistance EPM is focused on RESULTS. The consortium should provide made-to-measure support, acting as a one-stop-shop for the construction sector concerning RTD, Innovation, technology transfer… Final results: new proposals, partnerships, technology transfers...

  12. ENTRY POINT METHOD How to implement it EPM should be implemented through: 1. The performance of information & training regional / local seminars. 2. The selection of “target” SMEs. 3. The meeting face-to-face making use of “horizontal experienced technicians”. 4. The exchange of experiences among INNOCONS & CONSTRINNONET partners and provoking a multiplying effect.

  13. ENTRY POINT METHOD SUCCESSFUL POINTS EPM has already been proved to succeed in the sector thanks to the next points: 1. General Approach as the starting point, and as the basis for future interactions with the sector as a whole. 2. Regional or even Local approach bearing in mind the European focus. 3. SME is in the centre of the “picture”. 4. Real and close cases are the best way of provoking the pursued multiplying effect.

  14. SYNERGIES

  15. SYNERGIES Starting with ... 1. Sharing Working & Dissemination Meetings. 2. Exchanging partners & ideas. 3. Gathering interesting information released in the Innovation Forum. 4. Producing common material. 5… 6...
