  2. Background Information • Born on April 14, 1912 in Gentilly, Val-de-Mame • Died on April 1, 1994 • A French Photographer • His father was a plumber that died during WW1 • His mom died when he very young • Then raised by his “unloving aunt”

Continued… • Robert went to help out photographers • So he went to Ullman Studio • He had normally gone there to be a lettering artist • While he was doing this he wanted to become a staff photographer • He had been doing photography since the young age of 16 • He made his living by taking photos and by writing children books
