  1. My Personal, Professional Learning Network I have created an environment of inclusion, support and positivity for myself in my PLN @AnnGariano

  3. EPSB is a great resource that helps the Edmonton Public school system integrate technology into their curriculum. • It gives great tips and apps to help teacher include technology into their classrooms. • They link teacher to other useful sites. • Since EPSB is working with EPS, I know that all of their work is directly effecting this cities educational community. • I subscribe to their blog.

  4. This is a great organization that helps people with developmental and intellectual disabilities. • It is important to me to stay informed of all current issues involving people with disabilities; organizations like this one help me do this. • Staying up-to-date is important to me in my development as a special education teacher. • I have gone to seminars hosted by Community Living and other organization which are very interesting and informative.

  5. Alberta Teachers Association is a great locally based organization. • They have tons of information available, like teaching tips, job opportunities, resources and materials for special education teachers and their students. • Their daily tweets are of quality and I have re-tweeted or even emailed their tweets with other people I know that would benefit from the information • Their website is also a very useful tool for teachers.

  6. Royden is an amazing Edmonton based sculpture and Art professor at the university of Alberta . • He is a remarkable resource to have in my Professional Learning Network because he has such a mass of information and support. • His teaching style is very positive and inclusive. He is able to create a very encouraging atmosphere in his classes. • I follow him on twitter and am connected to him on LinkedIn. He is also available to me thru email whenever I need.

  8. @AnnGariano Twitter is a great way to start up a PLN for a beginning teacher. I don’t know a lot of people in the teacher realm. Twitter gives me access to great resources and organizations. It also allows me to ‘meet’/follow teachers and start building a relationship with them, while not having to meet them face to face. Twitter keeps me up to date on trends that are happening in the educational community even though I am not yet a part of it. I have my Twitter account focused on Secondary Education, Art, and persons with Developmental Disabilities. Things that I have taken note about (by marking as my favorite, re-tweeting and/or replying to)in Twitter have increased my professional development in a very rewarding and interactive way. Examples of my favorite hashtags are: #EPSB, #ATALibrary, #beginningteacherand #edit202.
