Write out a brief answer to the following on your own paper, making sure to put your full name on it. • Identify by name & briefly describe two (2) different mise-en-scene techniques (the sets, costumes, colors, and/or composition) which add to the meanings of the segment from Gangs of New York. • Note how each technique helps us understand what is going on in the scene, or builds atmosphere, or reveals character, etc. I do NOT want you to review the quality of these elements or make any kind of review—this is an application exercise only. • Afterwards, some answers will be shared with the whole class. Written response need to be turned in after class to receive points (5 PTS. CR/NCR but ONLY if you submit a written response TODAY! If you forget, then too bad, no points).
