  3. A plan to promote mechanical industry • 1998 : strategic study of the mechanical sector • 2001 : Visiomeca is launched • end 2002 : more than 1500 companies are concerned with the plan

Visiomeca programme • The mechanical plan Visiomeca has three major goals: • Promotion of the companies of Rhone-Alps. • Stimulation of the trade between French and European major clients and the companies of Rhone-Alps. • It is based on a partnership between the Rhone-Alps region, the French state, the professional organisations ( trade union Chamber of Rhone-Alps metallurgy, union of mechanics industries…), the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Rhone-Alps and the technical centres gathered within the ACTRA.
