The advancements in aviation technology drastically changed military strategies and global travel.

American civil war • Civil war took place from 1840 to 1880 • Civil war was caused by unfair taxation, and how the north didn’t like the south using Slaves to do their work • This caused a great deal of problems, Abraham Lincoln had to create some amendments to help give slaves their rights • Slavery was obviously an unethical thing to do
Continued • The Emancipation Proclamation • January 1, 1863 • “Gave all persons held as slaves within any state or designated part of a state, the people where of shall then be in rebellion against the United States shall be then forever free.” • Freed about more than 50,000 slaves • This revolutionized us by starting to give slaves rights, and be considered normal citizens
Progressive era • The airplane was created • 1880-1918 • Wright brothers invented the airplane • This invention changed how people travelled around the world
World War I • 1914-1918 • The first war in which aircrafts were being used • They also created the different types of aircrafts Ex: Fighter, bomber, and attack airplane • This revolutionized how wars were being fought
Continued • Flight in the air • 1914-1918 • Each country had a maximum amount of available planes • Aircraft technology started to advance • Created bigger, faster, and more maneuverable planes • This also lead to the creation of the rotary engine • This revolutionized the airplane industry
