  2. Social media includes web-based and mobile based technologies which are used to turn communication into interactive dialogue among organizations, communities, and individuals. (Wikipedia) Includes video, words, pictures, and audio through use of Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn, YouTube, blogging, etc.

  3. It was estimated in 2010 that 65% of people between the ages of 25-34 use social networking (Edison Research). That was almost a two-fold increase within two years. The Callahan & Associate study including 11,000 credit union members revealed interesting differences between age groups and usage of certain social media channels.

  21. Discussion When we get a lead from social media, how do we handle it? Follow up immediately! (email or phone call) Invite to a chapter event. (fun event, chapter installation, prospect party or just coming to a meeting to get to know everyone.)

After initiating, plan a fun event as soon as possible afterwards. * Use Shrine circus or other public event to set-up a booth to promote DeMolay and to collect names and email addresses. Perhaps offer a drawing for a prize as an incentive. Add email addresses to 8th Preceptor mailing list.
