Review of Past Year • Technology • Business • Imminent Tasks • Future Plans • Closed Door • Discussion Recap:Major Technology AccomplishmentsMay 2000 - May 2001 • CyberTools for Libraries via Application Service Provider (ASP) • Firewall and Proxy Server Implementations. Big job. • MeSH 2001 completed, big job with 800 qualifiers changing. • Circulation completed & live, lots of enhancements. • MARC Bib Utilities completed & live with complete redesign. • Lots of major enhancements to the OPAC. • New OPAC in HTML & JavaScript demonstrable.

  3. Imminent Tasks from May 2001 • Field test & rollout HTML OPAC. • Z39.50 completion, field test & rollout. • Complete Q/A of Serials, field test & rollout. • Complete Q/A of remaining MARC Authorities, field test & rollout. • Material Type User Interface rollout. • How did we do?

Review of Past Year • Technology • Business • Imminent Tasks • Future Plans • Closed Door • Discussion Z39.50 Completed! • Completed: • Works well with BookWhere & EndNote • Not installed at any sites yet • GU, Rush, TTUHSC, & UNT virtual installation from CyberTools server • Next: • Real installations • Server Enhancements as needed • Z39.50 Client integration in CyberTools OPAC, enabling searching a CyberTools library with the native OPAC and simultaneously searching other libraries, creating combined results.

Mostly health science libraries, some • corporate, some biomedical research companies, • graduate theology school. All ASP. • Focus on health science libraries, eager to get back to academic libraries.

Review of Past Year • Technology • Business • Imminent Tasks • Future Plans • Closed Door • Discussion Development, cont.December 2001 - Serials fully functioning, active at sites. - OPAC: - Boolean Interface completed (easy in Java, difficult in HTML) - Enriched Tables of Contents; pretty display, intelligent indexing; Available from MARCIVE. - Summaries, e.g., Doody Reviews - Cataloging Enhancements: - Copy a tag in the MARC bib editor - CIP Editor option rather than MARC Editor - UI Index subfields - UI Material Types (done, needs Q/A) - UI Define Catalog Display &TOC catalog “format” - UI Global MARC editor - UI for Exporting (done, needs Q/A) - Circ: Renews & Returns by Patron
