  8. WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW Studying at Box Hill Institute Get the resources you need as a current Box Hill Institute International student. Student visa and your obligations There are a number of conditions with which student visa holders must comply. Different visa conditions apply to you and your family members. Breaching a visa condition may result in the cancellation of your student visa. Some of these conditions are detailed below, however full details of these can be accessed on the Department of Immigration and Border Protection website. ESOS Framework As an international student you have legal rights and protection under an Act of Parliament the Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) Act 2000. The Act sets out the legal framework governing the delivery of education to overseas student studying in Australia. The National Code of Practice 2018 is a set of nationally consistent standards that governs the protection of overseas students and delivery of courses to those students. Box Hill Institute is a registered provider on the Commonwealth Register of Institutes and Courses for Overseas (CRICOS). Only CRICOS courses can be offered to international students studying in Australia on a student visa. Living in Melbourne We recommend that you allow a budget of approx.AUD$21,041 per year for living expenses such as accommodation, daily travel, books and materials.
