  1. A Popular Worldwide Movement • In the United Kingdom: 22 years ago, there were 17 green cemeteries. Today, there are approximately 200. • In the U.S.: 10 years ago, there was one green cemetery. Today, there are at least 10 (S.C., Ohio, Maine, Fla. (2), Texas, N.Y., Ga., N.M., Calif.). More are in the planning stages. • In Michigan: At least 3 green cemeteries are in our state. More are in the planning stages.
