  • In 2013, more than 1,300 events were held and more than 58,000 volunteers, including nearly 9,000 women, shaved their heads, raising more than 34 million USD- the most in St. Baldrick’s history.
  • So far in 2014, more than 11,000 volunteers, including more than 2,400 females, have registered to shave their heads at more than 750 events.

  • Blondes tend to have about 140,000 hairs on their head, compared to 110,000 for brown hair, 108,000 for black and only 90,000 for those with red hair!
  • A person loses 40 – 100 hairs a day
  • Each person’s head has an average of 100,000 strands of hair which means that St. Baldrick’sshavees shed more than 14,511,100,000 hairs for the cause!
  • At any one time 90% of your hair is growing
  • During a lifetime, the average human will grow 590 miles of hair, so why not shave or cut off some inches?
