Part 1: Your Undergraduate Degree Baruch College Offers the following undergraduate degrees • BA = Bachelor of Arts = 120 credits • BS = Bachelor of Science = 120 credits • BBA = Bachelor of Business Administration = 124 credits These are the minimum credits required to earn the degree. This number may increase, based on the number and type of credits you transfer to Baruch College. Remember your credits transfer but not your grades. Your degree consists of the: • Common Core Curriculum (Tier I, II and III) • Additional Course Requirements • Major • Electives The next few pages will show you the courses in each of the three Tiers

  3. Part 2: Common Core Curriculum The Common Core consists of three Tiers with a set number of courses in each tier. As you read each box – mark  each of the courses you completed based on what is listed on your evaluation. Highlight the courses that you will need to complete at Baruch to earn your degree. The courses for the core curriculum are required for all majors and degrees. NOTE: MATH 1030 does not fulfill the Tier 1 – Math Requirement NOTE: Need the SIMNET Exam? TIER III – Minor Requirement – (9 credits) Tier III consists of selecting three courses in one area of disciplinary study in the Humanities, Natural Sciences, Interdisciplinary Studies or Social Sciences. You will need two courses at the 3000 level and one course (capstone) at the 4000/5000 level. You are strongly advised to consult with a faculty advisor, the academic department and the Undergraduate Bulletin for specific courses; appropriate course selection; prerequisites and the sequence of each minor before your register for Tier III courses. Review the Undergraduate Bulletin for a complete listing of the Tier III Minors Note: While you must complete a minor from a non-business discipline, you may also complete a second minor from a business discipline.

Part 3: Additional degree requirements (degree requirements beyond the core curriculum) Each degree offered at Baruch College has additional course requirements which are described on the following pages.  All students in the Weissman School of Arts and Sciences and the School of Public Affairs are required to meet with a faculty advisor to declare the major.  All students must submit an on-line “Eligibility Review for your Major”. Additional Requirements to the Core Curriculum BA StudentsLiberal Arts Majors • One additional Natural Science course (4 credits) from among the following: BIO 1003, 1005 ,2010; CHM 1000, 2003; PHY 1003, 2003; ENV 1020, 1021 The 2nd Natural Science Course must be selected from a different area** than the Natural Science course completed to fulfill the required Tier II- Natural Science Requirement. ** ENV and BIO are considered to be the same area. Course completed__ • Cultural Studies - Select one course (3 credits) in Black, Hispanic, Latin American or Asian & Asian American Studies Course completed__ • Language Or Literature (6 – 8 credits)*See Undergraduate Bulletin for details. Course completed__ Course completed__ Students who wish to complete the BA degree must declare their major at one of the Academic Departments in the Weissman School of Arts & Sciences. The School also offers an Ad Hoc Arts & Sciences degree and offers students the opportunity of completing a double major.

Eligibility Review (requirements) for your Major. • The next three pages will list the eligibility requirements for the majors offered at Baruch College. • All students are required to submit the on-line “Eligibility Review for your Major” form. You may access this form by logging on to the Center for Advisement and Orientation website www.baruch.cuny.edu/advisement Look for the link on our home page.

Eligibility requirements for the following Majors:Accountancy, Computer Information Systems, Economics, Finance & Investments, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Human Resource Management, Operations Management, Entrepreneurship Management, Marketing Management, Quantitative Methods and Modeling. Students who wish to pursue the BBA degree may do so after they have completed a minimum of 45 credits with an overall minimum GPA of 2.25 and an average GPA of 2.25 or higher in the eight pre-business courses. Additionally, students must have completed either COM 1010 or ENG 2150 (or their equivalents) in order to apply. Eligibility Requirements for the following Majors:Public Affairs and Real Estate & Metropolitan Development Students who wish to pursue the BS degree in Public Affairs must complete the following courses (24 credit hours )with a minimum GPA of a 2.5 BS in Public Affairs: Completion of at least 24 credits including the following eight courses with a 2.5 GPA • COM 1010 Grade = • ECO 1001 Grade = • ENG 2100 Grade = • ENG 2150 Grade = • 2000-level Math course Grade = • PHI 2200 Grade = • PUB 1250 Grade = Pre-PA GPA = • STA 2100 Grade = Overall GPA = OR Completion of any 48 credit hours with an overall GPA of 2.25 which includes: • ENG 2100 Grade = • ENG 2150 Grade = • 2000-level Math course Grade = • STA 2100 Grade = • PUB 1250 Grade = Overall GPA = Faculty Advisor: Professor Daniel Williams (Contact SPA for Office Hours)

  13. Eligibility Requirements for Majors in the Weissman School of Arts and Sciences Requirement: Minimum overall GPA of a “C” - 2.0 Please note the following important information! Students who wish to complete the BA degree must declare their major through one of the Academic Departments in the Weissman School of Arts & Sciences and meet with a faculty advisor. • The School offers an Ad Hoc Arts & Sciences major degree and grants students the opportunity of completing a double major in Arts & Sciences. • Review the Undergraduate Bulletin for majors offered by the Weissman School. • Check out the website for more information about the Weissman School - http://www.baruch.cuny.edu/wsas/  To find out more information log on to: www.baruch.cuny.edu/advisement

  15. Additional and Important Information • Submit all final transcripts to the Office of Admissions. • Your previous grades do not transfer to Baruch College. Previous grades are reviewed to determine eligibility for certain majors. • You (not the advisor or the computer) are responsible for checking and adhering to all course prerequisites and corequisites. • Courses completed at your previous school (credits received) may not be repeated at Baruch. • Baruch offers free tutoring at the Student Academic Consulting Center (SACC), a nationally certified tutoring center. • All students are required to complete a liberal arts minor (see Tier III of the Core curriculum). • Baruch’s policies and procedures may be different than your previous school.
