Background • Due to the building of the new hall , the original building of the UPK is reconstructed. • Before the new UPK’s building is completed , the students and teachers moved to the Living SkillsWorkshop since 2009.
Teachers • Total of 11 teachers • 3 of them are visually impaired • 3 general assistants(prepare food and teaching materials ) • Teaching assistantsprepare questions and supervise the students
Activities • Inclusive Programme - The UPK Students will join the mainstream students during the teaching and learning process . - Subjects such as Geography and Mathematics which contain graphs and pictures will be further explained by UPK teachers.
Pn. RuzidahSeniorAssistantfor the Special Education Unit - 10 Years teaching experience in MSAB.
Examination • UPK Students will use special white paper for the braille machine during examinations. • They will use brown paper for their daily exercises
UPK students are allowed to use computers during important exams such as PMR , SPM , STPM to answer their questions and are given extra time to answer the exam.
Facillities • Food is sponsored by the school canteen every Tuesdays and Fridays. • The parents Teachers Associationhelps the UPK students who have financial problems by giving them RM 3 lunch money per day.
Electronic magnifiers (CCTV)are provided for UPK students who are not totally blind.
The PTA contributes a water dispenser for cold and hot water.
Achievement in Co-curriculum • International Nation’s song Competition • 4 UPK students of MSAB represented Johor Bahru to take part in the Bowling Competition at state level .
