  1. Name that Shape Elizabeth Robinson

  2. Having trouble “Oh my goodness what are these treasures I found here in my math class in the goodie box?” “They are all very colorful but I wonder what their names are.”

  3. Help is one the way “Don’t worry Dina I’m the geometry fairy and I’m here to tell you about these unique shapes that are called quadrilaterals.” “Quadrilaterals?” “That sounds a little funny to me, well I hope it won’t be to hard for me to understand because all the shapes are pretty and very colorful!!!”

  4. Where to start? “Come follow me Dina while we travel the wonderful of the great mighty quadrilaterals!!”

  5. The big picture • Quadrilateral just means four sides Rectangles Square Trapezoids Rhombus Kite

  6. Let’s began “The first shape that I will be bring to your attention is the triangle. It has three equal sides and it looks sort of like a pizza!! Sometimes you might see this shape being played by musicians.” “Oh wow I had no idea about triangles being used for music this is very interesting!!”

  7. Rectangle “A rectangle is a four sided shape that has equal sides of 90 degree right angles. It is the most known quadrilateral next to the square. Think of a long table and how it looks it kind of reminds you of a rectangle.” “Ok all I have to remember is to think about the shape of a table, this isn’t going too bad so far.”

  8. Square “A square is also a four sided figure that is a regular quadrilateral, squares also have angles that equal to 90 degrees. When you think of a square think about a box and how it’s formed.” “Ummm I guess that whenever I play with Rubik’s cube I can think about a square I’m getting these down packed!!”

  9. Trapezoid “Now a trapezoid is very uniquely shaped it might look sort of funny, but it’s quadrilateral plane figure that has two parallel and two non-parallel sides.” “Now this shape looks the funniest out of all the shapes I’ve learned so far. The way that I can remember this on is that it’s the Weirdest looking shape of all these Quadrilaterals!!!”

  10. Rhombus “A rhombus is quadrilateral whose four sides are equal which means they are all the same length. A rhombus is sometimes is called a diamond like the diamond that’s in deck of cards. The angles of a rhombus is 45 degrees.” “Okay this is an easy one to remember because I love diamonds, I mean what girl doesn’t like a nice sparkle!!!”

  11. Kite A kite is a quadrilateral with two pairs of equal sides, with the sides arranged Short-Short-Long-Long. Its sides are not parallel, but its diagonals are perpendiculars.” “I love taking by kite out on a Nice spring day, but I had no Idea that it was a shape with naming quadrilaterals, this is very Exciting.”

  12. Fair Well “I Believe my work here is done Dina I really hope you can take this information in class and in your everyday life as well just remember that I’m always here to help guide you in the world of geometry!!! Best wishes
