Advantages • Well established community • Provides extensive options for viewing photos taken by others through use of the ‘explore’ page • Photos can be given multiple descriptive tags to help sort them into groups • Includes content filter for image browsing • Extensive privacy settings at multiple levels • Provides downloadable image uploader • Can be associated with blogs and social networking websites • Affiliated with picnik.com – a good quality online photo editing website • Ability to add friends • Email / private messaging system available for communication with other members • Ability to subscribe to other users photostreams using RSS • Photos can be located on a map of the world to show where they were taken • Can be accessed by a variety of other web applications which can be used to manipulate your images • Photos can be organised and viewed according to a number of different properties: sets, tags, geoplotting
