The complicated directions confounded him. • Curate – n. –( Chiefly British) . a member of the clergy employed to assist a rector or vicar. • - v. - to be in charge of (an art exhibition or museum) • Ethereal – adj. - extremely delicate or refined Ex. ethereal beauty. • Gambol – v. - to skip about, as in dancing or playing; frolic. Ex. Loving his present, he gamboled around the Christmas tree. • Mutability – n. – the characteristic of being liable or subject to change or alteration. Ex. The future’s mutability makes it difficult to predict anything. • Nascent – adj. - beginning to exist or develop Ex. the nascent republic. • Nonplused – v. - rendered utterly perplexed; puzzled completely. Ex. I am nonplused by your sudden change of heart. • Pedantic – adj. - overly concerned with minute details or formalisms, esp. in teaching. Ex. I have been accused of being pedantic when discussing curriculum. • Quail – v. - to lose heart or courage in difficulty or danger; shrink with fear. Ex. The cowardly lion has been known to quail at the first sign of danger. • Rhetorical - n. - concerned with the art or science of all specialized literary uses of language in prose or verse, including the figures of speech.
