  2. The table shows the estimated wages for a waiter at the Corner Café. The tables served will be represented by t and w is the wages earned (base salary + tips).

  3. Graph the data. Let the wages (w) represent the f(x)-axis and the tables served (t) represent the x-axis. Is the data linear (how can you tell besides looking at the scatter plot). wages 10 20 30 40 50 Tables Served

  4. Since the data is linear, write a linear equation to represent this data. It doesn’t matter which two points since it’s linear So, now use the slope and any point Now find the slope

  5. What is the waiter’s base salary? How much will he earn serving 67 tables? The base salary is $40 (the y-intercept) The waiter will make $274.50 dollars for serving 67 tables
