  6. SIGNAL: a message/s trying to be conveyedNOISE: a deterrent, preventing the signal from conveying the message FILTRATION: A process in which elements are removed from a substance/signal, thus creating a distorted message from the original

Shannon and Weavers model contained 6 communication componentsINFORMATION SOURCE- sender of the signalENCODER/TRANSMITTER- encodes the signal into a transmittable form -coder of the signalCHANNEL- medium through which the signal passes -carrier of the signalNOISE- the deterrent preventing the signal from being relayed. DECODER- decodes the signal from its transmittable form to a message for the receiver. RECEIVER- the recipient of the message. 

  8. INFORMATION SOURCE/TRANSMITTER: Foreign countries creating films to import enabling them to relay culture and ideology across boarders. CHANNEL: film it self, the acting, cinematography etc NOISE: Chinese censorship laws prohibiting foreign film content to enter the county DECODER/RECEIVER: Limited information being filtered into the country- results in limited and inaccurate ideologies and concepts from foreign entities being grasped by the Chinese people.

  9. Issues concerned with the filtering of foreign films in china which were set in place by the communist party of China (cpc) in the 1950's.

  10. Filtering and censoring the truth in order to keep it hidden from Chinese CitizensHistorically, filtering and censorship were used to use censorship to mould or protect the country's culture.

  11. China has no motion picture rating system, and films must therefore be deemed suitable for all audiences to be allowed to screen

  12. International Film QUOTA in China leads to counterfeit trade in DVD's.

  13. Censorship in China is largely seen as a measure to maintain the rule of the Communist Party of China
