  2. MONEY HISTORY • 1910-1948 :Japan takes over Taiwan, the Mexican Silver (Mexican dollar). • In 1904 a currency revolution. The Bank of Taiwan establishes branch offices in Japan. • 1949-1967 : Currency relations cut off. • The New Taiwan dollar is issued • 1968-1979: In 1968 Taiwan invests $20 million in U.S. Government. • 1980-2003: United States puts pressure on Taiwan to raise its currency rates.

  3. NEW TAIWAN DOLLAR • Official currency of the Republic of China, on Taiwan. • Issued by the Central Bank of China • The exchange rate generally NT$25=US$1.

  4. SUN YAT SEN • Chinese history , known as "The Father of the Revolution" or "The Father of the Republic." West he the most important figure of Chinese history in the twentieth century. • Based his idea of revolutionon three principles: nationalism, democracy, and equalization

  6. NEW TAIWAN DOLLAR • New Taiwan Dollar (NT$) has five denominations in paper money and four in coins. • Paper money comes in NT$2000, NT$1000, NT$500, NT$200 and NT$100 denominations. • Coins come in NT$50, NT$10, NT$5 and NT$1 denominations.
