  3. Use • Precision Manufacturing and Repair of Aircraft Parts. • 24 hour Utilization

  4. Existing Conditions • Low light levels • Heavy Shadows • High level of employee dissatisfaction

  5. Existing Lighting System • High Pressure Sodium • Metal Halide • Pulse Start Metal Halide

  6. The Challenge • Light the work area to 70 FC’s with a high quality light source suitable for performing precision operations. • Save energy, if possible.

  7. The Approach • Demonstration area – Select • Start From Scratch – Redesign lighting system • Proper light in the proper places

  8. Demonstration Installation • Weekend installation • Photography of demonstration area Note difference in light and color in T5 demonstration at Bldg 472

  9. Reaction • “Oh My God” • “When do I get it?”

  10. Project Installation • 60 Day construction period • High lift equipment • By area – A to Z
