Norms • Limit side conversations unless directed to talk about it. • Put cell phones in “manner mode”-Tell someone ahead of time if you are expecting a call if at all possible. • Listen to and respect others’ ideas and opinions. Agree to disagree. Everyone has a voice…use it! • Have an agenda with time frames. Start and end on time. • Be prepared. • Don’t beat a dead horse. • Have a universal quiet signal. • Have a table for everyone. • Laugh and have fun. • Celebrate!

Survey Data • Homework • Please ensure that it is understandable if student is sick, so parents can help at home • If you give it… plan to grade it or provide feedback • Ensure all reinforces what students are currently learning • Newsletters • Send home at a minimum monthly • Include any awardsand/or upcoming activities • Remind parents of open-door policy… encourage parents to stop in for lunch, volunteer in classroom, etc. • Additional Communication • Give early and frequent feedback if students are struggling… do not wait until parent-teacher conferences • Send home work with feedback, data notebooks, etc. • Learning expectations at beginning of each quarter and/or year (update and place on the website)

  7. 2012-13 Building Goals • Goal #1… 80 % of students will perform on grade level using the Universal Screening Tools. • AIMSweb: 80% of students will score at the 50 percentile or above as measured by the Spring Benchmark Assessments (Math, LNF, LSF, PSF, NWF, RCBM, and/or MAZE). CA K (86%) 1st (61%) 2nd (74%) 3rd (60%) 4th (53%) Math (66%) (56%) (87%) (72%) (62%) • SRI: 80% of students will score in the proficient or above categories on the final SRI assessment 2nd (81%) 3rd (77%) 4th (86%)
