Steady and reliable income for low-income communities in Nicaragua

Year after year, Nicaragua continues to rank amongst the poorest countries in the Western Hemisphere. Approximately one-third of its population lives below the poverty line, especially in rural areas. A large portion of the low-income communities survives merely on $2 per day for all their needs. 1. STEADY AND RELIABLE INCOME FOR LOW- INCOME COMMUNITIES IN NICARAGUA

  2. Year after year, Nicaragua continues to rank amongst the poorest countries in the Western Hemisphere. Approximately one-third of its population lives below the poverty line, especially in rural areas. A large portion of the low-income communities survive merely on $2 per day for all their needs. Some days, the wages are even lesser.

  3. Families sell their household goods, perform back-breaking labor, or travel to urban areas searching for work to make for a steady living. The wealth gap, political tensions, natural disasters, teen pregnancies, lack of education, unemployment, etc. are significant factors contributing to a higher rate of poverty in Nicaragua.

  4. FROM MISERY TO HOPE The challenges faced by the Nicaragua people are real and devastating. The circumstances may be getting worse. But from the last few years, more and more passionate people are coming forward to help the families in need and bring them some relief. Nicaragua people certainly have a lot of potential. But it only takes a wise person to think and act differently. People like Elizabeth Valente are working day and night to bring about a significant change in the condition Nicaragua people live in. Elizabeth is trying to positively impact societies struggling with food, water, health, education, and the unemployment crisis.

  5. Furthermore, not just individuals but even nonprofit organizations like  Supply Hope are devising community-focused, income generation plans that help cater to the basic needs of low-income families, including housing, food, water, medical care, and sanitation. Creating small business opportunities for low-income families in poor communities empowers them to make a steady and reliable income. This is the primary and most important step for taking people from misery to mastery!

  6. BUSINESS IN A BAG Micro-franchising is one of the major programs giving hopes to low-income populations dwelling in the abyss of Nicaragua. Men and women now have the chance to become their own boss to their very own home-based stores. A micro-franchise, AKA business in a bag, operates based on an uncomplicated, proven, and franchise-approach business model. It deploys deserving and willing operators at pre-arranged stores or counters to sell standard quality products or services in densely populated, but low-income neighborhoods.

  7. The franchisor’s responsibility is to provide the operator with the necessary training, equipment, warehousing, and on-going support for more convenience. The operator simply picks the bag of resources and starts working on it with the acquired skills and techniques. It is with time, patience, and practice on the job that operators gain more expertise in interacting with their customers and expanding their small businesses to offer more opportunities to others.

  8. The daily earnings may vary, but operators have gone from (unsteady) $2 per day wages to (steady) $5 - $10 per day wages within months. These earnings are directly vested in the well-being of their entire family. Not only does it improve the living quality, diet, and medical care for the operators, but micro-franchising also offers excellent products to the low-income markets at affordable prices. As the micro-franchise operators can count on the stable income they make each day, week, or month, they dream of a brighter looking future. That is the major advantage of micro-franchising!
