Introduction • Without proper vocabulary, it is hard to know where to place your hands. • It is mandatory to learn the names of different parts of the guitar. • First, learn the parts that are common to all guitars. • One can learn these parts from online videos or you can consult your guitar teacher if you take guitar classes.

Parts Explained • The headstock is the first section of the guitar, on which one can find tuners and tuning pegs. • The tuning pegs allow you to tune the guitar by tightening or loosening the wires. • The middle, narrow section of the guitar is called the neck. • The nut is the white strip that is closest to the headstock. • The front side of the neck is called the fretboard.

  6. The metal wires on the fretboard are called the frets. • The biggest part of the guitar is called the body that has a hole in the middle called the soundhole. • On the body of the guitar, the bridge, the saddle, and the bridge pins hold the wires in place.
