When you wish to obtain the forklift operating license, it is recommended to know how to prepare the same for ice & snow. During your online forklift training course, you will be given lectures on how to prepare the forklift to run on different terrains and conditions. As per OSHA, 11 percent of the forklifts get involved in an accident every year. Moreover, most of these accidents tend to occur during the winter months. The hazards during the winter months with respect to forklift operation can be avoided by taking proper care. Here are some pro tips: •Operator Protection: When you are the employer, it is your responsibility to ensure that the operators are properly tooled when they are working outdoors in snow and ice. Right from windproof coats to warm clothing layers, gloves, and hats –all such aspects will ensure that the operators are protected during harsh weather conditions. •Forklift Protection: It is recommended to invest in high-quality, durable forklift covers to keep the forklifts safe from the cold winds and snow. Pneumatic tires in comparison to the standard tires can ensure maximum protection during harsh weather conditions.
