  1. Choosing Extracts for Coursework LO: to complete annotating our ‘Oval Portrait’ for close word level analysis; : to commence choosing extracts for our Coursework.

  2. Your extracts must be... • Meaty: have lots of possibilities for analysis. Always relate your analysis back to your interpretation of violent tendencies. • About a page and a bit long: anything shorter and it will not show enough depth. • Must show, at least, 3 interpretations of violent tendencies.

  3. Task: • Find 3 extracts that reveals violent tendencies. • Your extracts MUST also tie-in with Chandler, The Big Sleep. • You will write your coursework focusing on ASPECT planning, so there needs to be a link between the two extracts.

  4. Aspect planning Poe Chandler Through obsession with revenge Through blunt language Through volatile behaviour • Reveals violent tendencies through unpredictable actions • Reveals violent tendencies through obsession • Reveals violent tendencies through fierceness of the language

  5. For the first lesson back after half term: • (No exceptions with this- fail to produce all that I ask, I will notify your PT and you will do an after school with me, and go on report.) • 3 extracts (Poe) • 3 interpretations of violent tendencies for each extract (Poe) • 3 extracts (Chandler) • All 6 extracts annotated.
