OHHS Policies • Choose classes carefully, there will be NO class changes! CHANGES
Graduation Requirements • All students need to complete 220 credits and pass the CAHSEE to receive a diploma!
Transfers • Students that are in the Oak Hills High School boundaries and are interested in attending Hesperia High School, Please indicate this by checking yes on the front of the registration sheet.
English • Students need a total of 40 English Credits for Graduation • Take the next level • New Course: English 3 Expository Reading and Writing. Designed for students planning on attending a 4 year college or transferring from a community college. Similar to an Honors class. • A Grade of A or B and recommendation in current English course to be recommended for Expository or AP. • Circle the Eng Course that is your choice.
Math • Students need a total of 20 Math Credits for graduation. • Students need to complete Algebra 1, Algebra 1B, and Geometry or Practical Geometry for graduation. • Counselors will place students based on 1st semester grades and discussion with students.
Math • Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II for 4 year (UC/CSU) • Math Analysis (need C or better in Alg II) • Statistics AP (need C or better in Alg II) • Finite Math (need Alg II with a “C” or better) will count as 4th year of college prep math. • Circle Appropriate Math class • Please note: AP courses will only be offered based on student demand.
Social Science • Graduation Requirement: 30 credits of Social Studies to graduate. • Juniors must pass US History. • Students planning on taking US History AP should be currently enrolled in World History Honors or have a teacher recommendation. • Circle either US History or Us History AP
Science • Graduation Requirement: 3 years - 1 Life (Biology) 1 Physical and 1 year of Life or Physical to Graduate • Minimum Biology, Chemistry or Physics for 4-Year College Bound Students (UC/CSU). • Chemistry or Physics: Completion of Biology and at least concurrent enrollment in Algebra II is recommended. • Anatomy and Physiology – completion of Biology with a C or better.
Science • Biology AP – completion of Biology and Chemistry with grades of C or better, (B or higher preferred) or teacher recommendation. • Chemistry AP – completion of Biology and Chemistry with grades of C or better (B or higher preferred), or teacher recommendation. • Circle Appropriate Science class AP Classes will be offered based upon student demand.
Foreign Language • Students need 1 year of Fine/Performing Arts OR Foreign Language for Graduation. • 4-Year College Bound Students must take 2 full years of the same Foreign Language(UC/CSU) • Take next level with teacher recommendation (grade of “C” or better) • Spanish I – III (IV & V AP) • Heritage Spanish I & II • French I – III (IV AP)
Visual/Performing Arts • Students need 1 year of Fine/Performing Arts OR Foreign Language for Graduation. • 4-Year College Bound Students must take 1 full year of Fine/Performing Art (UC/CSU) • Art I - IV • Beginning Photo or Advanced Photography (Not UC/CSU) • Sculpture I
Visual/Performing Arts • Band (Auditions for advanced courses ) • Vocal (Auditions for advanced courses) • Advanced Drama or Drama Productions • Music Appreciation • Dance – Meets HUSD Graduation Requirements/Not UC • *Summer 2008: Music Appreciation may be offered to fulfill UC/CSU Fine Art requirement”.
PE • Two years of PE • The PE requirement is met by: • Dance • Pageantry and Cheerleading are PE Credit • Athletic PE – Need Coaches Initials on Registration form and get Athletic PE Contract • 1 Year of ROTC or Marching Band equals 5 PE Credits.
Electives • Choose Electives CAREFULLY! • Read about them! • Choose elective alternates • Not everyone will get their first choice. • OHHS will have a NO CLASS CHANGE POLICY!

Electives • Some Electives have shop fees ($) • Advanced Electives you must have a recommendation. • ALL Electives are year long and there will be NO class changes at semester!
T.A./Office Aid/Student Store Worker Policies • For student’s to be chosen as a T.A. or Office Aid or Student Store Worker they must: • Have a 2.75 GPA • Have NO attendance or discipline issues • Have passed the CAHSEE
Summer School • Will be held at Sultana High School • Dates: • June 8-25 Semester 1 • June 29 –July 16th • Times: 7:30 – 1:30 • Only academic classes will be offered NO sports PE. • No Transportation Provided!
Summer School • Forms will be handed out when you meet with your counselor. • Courses are first come first serve. • Students who get their summer school registration forms turned in will have first priority!
California High Exit Exam (CAHSEE) • Tests Language Arts and Math • Given once during the Sophomore year (March 17th and 18th) • Given twice during Junior year • Given three times during Senior Year • Study! Links on the HHS Web Site and will be on the OHHS web site • If you have not passed you will be placed in a CAHSEE Prep class instead of an elective.
State Testing • CST Testing will be from April 13-24 • Rewards for scores of proficient or advanced. • DO YOUR BEST!
OHHS Information • Located off of Ranchero Road and Cataba • School hours will be similar to HHS • ONE lunch
Go DOGS! • School colors: Red, White and Black • School mascot: Bull Dog • Should have all Varsity sports that HHS has • Clubs will be determined by student interest

OHHS Info • Boundaries: • If address is South of Main street, East of the Freeway and West of the rail road tracks you will be in the Oak Hills High boundaries • If address is North of Main street, East of the Freeway and West of the rail road tracks you will be in the Hesperia High School boundaries.
Intra District Transfer Info • If you would like to attend a different high school than the school which you have been identified you must: • Pick up an intra-district transfer form from the HHS Records office from February 9th-February 27th. • Fill out the form and return it to HHS records • You will be notified if you have been accepted • You will be given a date in June when you and your parents will have to come in and enroll. • Remember NO Transportation will be provided! • There will be another opportunity for inter and intra district transfers in April (Contact the District office for the exact date)
