Serratia marcescens & Bell Pepper Soft-Rot Disease in Greenhouse Conditions

Positive DNA hydrolysis reaction of S. marcescens strains on DNase test agar. Evidence of DNase production is shown by clearing areas around bacterial colonies grown on DNase test agar with toluidine blue indicator. Study on soft-rot disease in bell peppers.

Supplementary information Supplementary Fig. S3 Positive DNA hydrolysis reaction produced by Serratiamarcescensstrains on DNase test agar. a) S. marcescensstrain AGPim1A. b) S. marcescensATCC 13880. DNase or deoxyribonuclease production is evidenced by the clearing area (highlighted by arrows) around the bacterial colony growing on DNase test agar supplemented with the indicator toluidine blue (Sigma-Aldrich, USA).
